Can kids cross the border without birth certificates?
Q. My sister is planning a visit with her 3 kids, they have already been traveling for a few days so can not go back for birth certificates. Can she cross the border from Canada to US with the kids care cards?

A. First answerer missed the point...she seems to think your sister is a U.S. citizen, not a Canadian. Nope. Children must have that birth certificate and if the mother is bringing the children alone, she must have permission from the father. He must provide a signed , notarized letter giving permission for her to take the children out of the country, for each child. See 4th paragraph in first article below. Second article also states this is necessary when crossing Canadian- U.S. border. Now, I have rried to find a Canadian government soiurce for this info and cannot, these articles are written from the viewpoint of going from the U.S. to Canada, not the other way around. What age order should I address kids on my inner envelopes?
Q. Does it matter what order i put the kids on for my inner envelope. There are 4 kids i am inviting. So it will say Mr. & Mrs. Doe and then have the kids listed individually. What order do they go in? Youngest to oldest or does it matter? What is proper?

What are good ways to help kids with their homework?
Q. I'm 17 and i have a lot of younger siblings and cousins that we live with each oother. I am going to start helping them with their homework more this year. I don't think i explain things that well. Can u give me some tips on helping the kids with their homework. I'm a junior in high school and the kids are all ages and the school age kids in my house are grades kindergarten to 11th grade(juniors in high school)

A. I think that the best way to handle this would be to have a set time each night to work on homework. I wouldn't suggest immediately after school...everyone needs time to wind down and kids need to work off all that built up energy. I would suggest getting home, having a snack, playing or hanging out and then doing the homework. Everyone does homework every night. Turn off the tv, the stereo and telephone and sit at the dining room table. If someone doesn't have homework, they can sit around the table and read or color a picture or practice writing their letters or numbers. The point is that no one is doing something other than work during work time. You don't want them to not bring their homework home or rush thru it at… [cont.]
