How do you quote a quote that is quoting a song lyric?
Q. This is how it's written in the novel. "I've been looking for love in all the wrong places," she booms out, and then something makes her notice us. The quote is italicized because it is a song lyric. Now I need to quote it for a book report. How do I quote a quote that is a song lyric in italics?

A. So the key is that you want to quote the whole line, including the part that is already a quote, right? I believe the way to do it is to put double quotes around the whole thing, but also use single quotes for the song lyric, like so: "'I've been looking for love in all the wrong places,' she booms out, and then something makes her notice us." Obviously italics would make it stand out better, but if you don't have that option, I think this is the way to go.

How do i write a lyric poem?
Q. i know that it doesn't need to rhyme but every time i start to write it looks more like a free verse than a lyric. Help please.

A. A good thing to do when writing lyric poems is to have a unity in the syllables you have in each sentence. That way it can be free verse but still seems unified and more structured, like lyrics are.
